1. Piroxicam demonstrates a significant increase in efficacy for the treatment
of inflammation associated with acute musculoskeletal injuries including sprains
and tendinitis2.
2. Piroxicam can reduce symptoms (pain on palpation, reduced muscle force and swelling) and can shorten time to complete recovery in acute sports injuries. It is significantly superior in terms of local tenderness at seven days and time to obtain complete relief of symptoms as compared to naproxen3. 3. With similar efficacy, piroxicam demonstrates significantly better toleration than either naproxen or indomethacin2. |
